REGISTRATION

Early registration is recommended to benefit from the early bird fee.

What does the "registration fee–online" include?
The registration fee–online allows access to the streamed content of the conference live as well as all recorded presentations 'on demand' until August 5, 2021. Furthermore, it allows submission of a poster for online presentation and/or application for a lecture (oral communication, 15 + 5 min Q&A). The registration fee also includes access to all poster presentations already one week before the start of the conference. Interactions at poster session is ensured by video-chat function. Furthermore, access to various integrated tools to enable exchange and communication online is included.

Reduced fees/cost of living index
Biotrans 2021 is the first Biotrans conference that will be accessible online and we want to use this opportunity to enable access to the conference for PhD/Master students from all over the world. Therefore, reduced early bird on-line participation fees apply for PhD/Master students from countries with a “cost of living index” below 65 according to the following table: https://www.worlddata.info/cost-of-living.php

All aforementioned fees exclude any possible taxes and duties.  

[a] reduced online fee can only be accepted for students currently studying in countries with a “cost of living index” below 65 according to the table: https://www.worlddata.info/cost-of-living.php; no upgrade to on-site possible. Misuse of this reduced fee will result in extra costs.

Cancelling and Refunding
Update, for online-only format: For cancellation by registered participants before June 15, 2021 80% of the fee paid will be refunded. Cancellation after June 15, 2021 will result in forfeiture of the registration fee. For more detailed information on cancellation, please log into your account and go to terms and conditions. The organizers cannot be made liable for slow/lousy internet connections.

Transfer of registration
Transfer of your registration to another person is possible. The full name and details of the person that will replace you must be communicated to the organization prior to the conference.

Non-attendance
No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the conference.

GUIDELINES

After registration you can submit your abstract via the following link: Submit your abstract

Guidelines for abstract submission:
Please use the provided template for your abstract. Your abstract should be uploaded as a pdf (max. 10MB) file. This abstract will be used for the generation of the e-book of abstracts. During the upload process you will be asked to upload the text in a separate form. This text will be used for the search function available on the conference platform to make navigating through the content easier.

Guidelines for poster presentations:
The poster session will be online only. Posters should be submitted as image files (jpg, max. 25MB) in A0 portrait. Optionally, a video additionally to the poster may be submitted. All poster contributions that include a video enter a competition for online poster pitch presentations and the poster pitch awards. In the video you may present your poster by using e.g. 3-4 slides; you may be creative; max. 3 min (!), .mp4 format, max. 150MB). All poster contributions, whether or not they include a video, enter a competition for the poster prizes. Poster presenters have to upload their poster (incl. optional video) already one week prior to the start of the conference (July 11, 2021).

For converting your file into .mp4 or reducing the file size the open-source program HandBrake is recommended.

Guidelines for oral presentations:
Oral presentations will be limited to 20 minutes (15 + 5 min Q&A). Presentations should be presented as PowerPoint or as PDF files. Applications for oral presentations by abstract submission will be considered until April 13. Abstracts which cannot be considered for an oral presentation will be automatically considered for poster presentation.
